Top Four Women’s Luxury Trends: Week Ending Jan. 2, 2016

- Luxury retailers were still cleaning house with massive sales. Retailers such as Bergdoff Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Net-a-Porter offered up to 60-70% off merchandise. Luxury is no longer immune to sales and promotions that are big part of the business in other segments.
- Some retailers added purchase incentives such as “Spend more, save more”. Last weekend through Monday, Neiman Marcus offered a $100, $200, and $300 gift card for spending $500, $750 and $1000, respectively.
- Dresses was the top-sold out category across the board.Bergdoff Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-a-Porter, and Saks Fifth Avenue sold the most products in this category, with Neiman Marcus selling 669 skus, the highest of the four. Neiman Marcus also had the highest number of products sold out at full price with 619 skus sold.
- Most of the new products introduced last week were in the Dresses and Shirts & Tops categories. Bergdoff Goodman added 8 skus to Dresses, Neiman Marcus added 567 skus to Shirts & Tops, Net-a-Porter added 66 skus to Dresses and Saks Fifth Avenue added 213 skus to Shirts & Tops.
