What's New: Week of August 26

This week brings us new trends in denim and shirt jackets, as well as lots of other goodies. We've also added in keywords to help you better describe these trends.

RELAXED DENIM

This season's denim makes room for breathing, with relaxed profiles we haven't seen in some time. In particular, pleated and paperbag waists and wider leg openings are featuring in the hottest denim trends, including the sold-out style below from Re/Done x Attico.

SHIRT JACKET

Some call it the "shacket" but either way, the shirt jacket is a transitional power piece. A more structured, heavier piece than the button down shirt it's inspired by, it's meant to provide layering warmth as the temperatures cool. A menswear classic, we're also seeing more versions for women this season.

OVERALLS

Set aside your previous feelings about overalls. This season there's a new formal overall on the market. This one is polished, can be dressed up or down, and pairs perfectly with a silk pussybow blouse. The overall style dress follows the same styling. For the more casual look, you'll find overalls in materials like corduroy that are a step up from the basic.

BUM BAGS

A trend that some thought would be fleeting, the bum bag shows itself to have staying power due to influencers styling them in new and different ways (i.e over the shoulder) as well as fashion-led sportswear. Look to brands like P.E Nation and Senreve as to how they meld fashion and function in bum bag styles.

BLAZER DRESS

The blazer dress trend combines two of the fall's key themes - the oversized blazer and rich plaids and prints. Usually a bit on the shorter side, you will typically find these in double- and single-breasted styles or cinched at the waist.
